Overview

Focus on the current tab group in a calm side panel. Manage tabs, browse group accordions, and pair pages in native Split View.

Put the pages you need at the top of a quiet side panel. BreathingRoom keeps your focused Chrome group at the top of the panel. Ungrouped tabs have their own collapsible section below Add tab. Opening a loose tab keeps the focused group visible. Expand a group in Chrome's horizontal strip to show its pages in the panel, or switch groups directly with the bottom group picker. • Return to recently selected open tabs from a dedicated Recent Tabs section between New Tab and Ungrouped Tabs. See the last three at a glance, expand to ten, collapse the section, or clear the list. Recent selections stay within the current window and browser session. • See the current group in a compact colored header, with the previous group beside it. Click the previous group to swap back and forth. • Keep the focused group visible while browsing loose tabs, or turn on Show all groups for independent collapsible group lists. • Recognize pages by their titles and each tab’s Chrome-reported favicon, with rows tinted to match their group color. • Switch pages, close tabs, and add tabs separately to the focused group or to the ungrouped section. • Pair an eligible page with the selected tab in native Chrome Split View. Separate the pair without closing either page. • Choose eight pastel backgrounds or your own color, adjust the font size, show page addresses, reduce row spacing, and toggle the branch gutter. • Keep only one horizontal group open with an optional setting. Opening another group closes the previous one; ungrouped tabs leave it open. The selected page has a passive dot. A side-by-side button on another eligible page pairs it with the selected page. Within the current pair, a separate button appears on the inactive half. Requires Chrome 155 or later. Pairing requires two unpaired tabs in the same window and group with matching pinned status. BreathingRoom moves the partner next to the selected tab when necessary. Chrome controls native group expansion; the extension cannot block group-label clicks or hide grouped tabs. Expanding a collapsed native group selects it in the panel. Activating a grouped page also selects its group. The panel provides an explicit group picker. Preferences are stored locally. The current and previous group identifiers are remembered per window for the current browser session. No account, ads, analytics, or developer server. Open-tab information is processed on your device to provide the tab-management features. BreathingRoom does not read page content or past browsing history.
