Overview

Screen the week's new research and rank it on track record, originality, backing and substance. Filter by keyword.

Every field publishes more each week than anyone can read. Filtered Research screens that week for you and puts the papers worth your time at the top. Pick a category, press screen, and get a ranked feed in the side panel while you work. Every paper shows why it is there. HOW IT RANKS Four things are measured about every paper, and you decide how much each one counts: - TRACK RECORD: what the authors had published before this paper - ORIGINALITY: how unusual its subject and framing are for the field - BACKING: the team behind it, their institutions, and where it appeared - SUBSTANCE: how much there is to the write-up itself Each has its own slider. Turn one up to lean on it, or down to zero to ignore it completely. Set track record and backing to zero and a paper is judged on the work alone, which is what finding an unknown researcher with a good idea takes. A separate selectivity bar decides how many papers you actually see. It works on share, not on a score: at 40 you get the top half of everything screened, at 60 the top fifth, at 90 the top one percent. The sliders decide the order; this decides where to stop reading. KEYWORD FILTERS Build a search out of keywords rather than a sentence. Each row is one idea, and a paper has to match every keyword in that row. Add a second row for a second subject, and both arrive in the same feed. Keywords are picked from a fixed research vocabulary, not typed free-hand, so a paper can match on the subject it was catalogued under rather than on whichever words its abstract happened to use. THE FEED Ranked results in the Chrome side panel, at whatever range you want: one day, three days, a week, a month. Sort by best match, originality, track record or newest. Every card carries its four scores and a line explaining the result, so you can see what put it there before deciding to open it. Searches run in the background. Close the panel and keep working; the pass carries on, and you can stop it at any point. Turn on automatic scanning and it screens on its own every few hours. Anything new that clears your bar collects in an inbox with a count on the toolbar icon, so you can come back to what arrived while you were doing something else. PRIVACY There is no content script, so the extension cannot see the pages you browse. No account to make, no server to talk to, nothing tracked and no ads. Your papers and your settings live in Chrome, on your own machine.
