FactWatch
Overview
AI-powered fact-checking for YouTube videos
FactWatch adds a fact-checking sidebar to YouTube that analyzes video transcripts and identifies false or misleading claims. How it works: - Open any YouTube video and click "Analyze video" in the FactWatch sidebar - FactWatch reads the video's transcript and uses AI to extract checkable claims - Each claim is individually fact-checked and rated as True, Misleading, or False - Toast alerts pop up at the exact moment a questionable claim is made in the video - Timeline dots mark where claims appear on the video progress bar Features: - Manual mode: type in any claim to fact-check it on the spot - Auto mode: one-click full-video analysis with adjustable claim count (3-100) - Choose your AI provider: Gemini (free), Groq (free), OpenAI, Grok, or Claude - Bring your own API key — no account or subscription with FactWatch required - Timed toast alerts that sync with video playback - Timeline flags on the YouTube progress bar - Copy summary of all results to clipboard - Speaker trust tracking - Works on Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Brave Privacy-first: FactWatch runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any FactWatch server - API calls go directly from your browser to the AI provider you choose, using your own key. Nothing is tracked or collected.
