FactFiltrAI flags content that may be inaccurate or misleading. Everything runs entirely on your device - no data is sent anywhere outside your browser. What it does • Highlights Medium and High-risk blocks in feeds and articles • Right-click any selection → “Analyze selection” • Uses local heuristics such as: - Domain reputation - Clickbait, sensational, or conspiracy-style markers - Hedging or overly absolute phrasing - Excessive ALL CAPS or exclamation marks - Missing author byline - Lack of external citations • Includes an options page to adjust thresholds, UI toggles, domain scores, and phrase lists What it does NOT do • Does not “prove” truth or certify accuracy • Does not send or upload page content to any server • Does not track you or log your browsing activity Permissions • activeTab → lets you trigger analysis on the page you’re currently viewing • tabs → required to support analysis across multiple open pages • scripting → injects the analysis script into the page you open • storage → saves your preferences and thresholds locally • host permissions (<all_urls>) → necessary so the extension can scan content on any site you choose (all scanning still runs only on your device) Privacy • No data collection • No telemetry • No third-party servers • 100% local analysis, fully under your control
