Overview

AI fact checker for selected text and web pages. Explore source links, verified passages, and missing context as you browse.

Investigate the claims you read online without leaving the page. Select a factual sentence or check the current page to get an AI-assisted assessment with an explanation and source links. HOW IT WORKS 1. Highlight a claim, then right-click and choose "Fact-check this page or selection." You can also use the toolbar button or Command+Shift+U (Ctrl+Shift+U on Windows). 2. Follow progress in the on-page panel. 3. Read the conclusion and explanation. Expand "Claim checked" to see what was assessed. 4. Open source links and available passages to examine the evidence yourself. Expanding a result does not start another check. WHAT YOU GET - Fact checking for selected text and web pages. - Conclusions that distinguish correct, mostly correct, misleading, false, and unclear claims. - Source links and verified quotations when a passage can be matched to retrieved source text. - Explanations of missing context and uncertainty. - An optional deeper search when you explicitly request another check; usage limits apply. ACCOUNT & PLANS Sign-in is required. Usage limits and paid plans apply. Sign in on the website, then continue checking from the extension without keeping the website open. The account and payment website still uses the Footnote name during this transition. PRIVACY & LIMITATIONS Checks start when you request them. Submitted text, page context, and images or screenshots when needed are sent for analysis. The optional vvv typing shortcut requires additional website access and is off by default. The extension does not collect browsing history. AI assessments can be wrong. A verified quotation confirms that a passage appears in retrieved text; it does not establish that the source itself is correct. An unclear result is not evidence that a claim is false. Review the linked sources before relying on a conclusion. HELP Read the guides: https://footnote-90bdd.web.app/docs/ Contact: tayeb.bentria@gmail.com
