Overview
Fact-check YouTube videos and web articles: stream web-grounded verdicts and highlight each claim by how right or wrong it is.
Fact-Check adds a one-click fact-checker to YouTube and to any article you read. On YouTube it adds a ✓ Fact-check button next to Like/Share. It pulls the video's time-coded transcript, checks the claims against live web sources with the AI model you choose, and streams time-coded verdicts into the player: colored markers on the scrubber, a live verdict card synced to playback, and a summary of every claim. On any article, click the toolbar icon → ✓ Fact-check this page. It finds the main article text (skipping nav, headers, footers, sidebars and ads), checks the claims, and highlights them in place, colored by verdict. Hover a highlight for the reasoning and sources; a side panel lists every claim and jumps to it. One verdict scale, color-coded: 🟢 accurate · 🔴 false · 🟡 misleading · ⚪ unverifiable. • Bring your own AI key — OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude. Your key is stored locally in your browser and sent only to the provider you choose. • Web-grounded — verdicts are checked against live sources, with links you can verify. • Streams live — claims appear as they're judged. • Cached — re-checking a page you've already done is instant. ⚠️ Verdicts are AI-generated and can be wrong. Treat them as a starting point and always check the linked sources. This is an assistive tool, not ground truth. Privacy: the extension only acts when you click. It runs no analytics or ads and collects no personal data. Policy: https://claimpit.com/privacy
