Focus Anchor
Overview
Mark a primary tab and get nudged back when you drift too long. Passive, always-on, no session needed. Chrome only.
Focus Anchor keeps you on task by watching which tab you're on and gently pulling you back when you wander. Mark any tab as your "primary" tab — the thing you're supposed to be working on. From then on, Focus Anchor quietly tracks how long you spend on other tabs. Drift past your chosen time limit, and it steps in: either a notification with a one-click "Return now" button, or an automatic switch straight back to your primary tab. It runs entirely in the background with no session to start or stop. Step away from your desk and it pauses automatically, so you're never nudged for being idle or having your screen locked. You can mark more than one tab as primary (for example, a document and its reference material), adjust how long you're allowed to drift before being nudged, and choose whether nudges are a notification or an automatic tab switch. To use it: open the tab you want to stay focused on, click the Focus Anchor icon, and choose "Mark this tab as primary." That's it — Focus Anchor takes over from there. Focus Anchor does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything — your primary tabs, your settings — stays on your device in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to any server.
