Overview
Take back your attention span. Face Value removes clickbait titles and thumbnails from YouTube and hides Shorts entirely.
Face Value is a clickbait remover for YouTube. Every title on YouTube is written to grab your attention, and every thumbnail is engineered for clicks. Even honest creators package good videos this way, because the algorithm rewards whoever grabs hardest. Face Value takes that lever away. Clean titles. Every title is rewritten based on the video's actual transcript, so it says plainly what the video contains. No caps lock, no curiosity gaps, no promises the video doesn't keep. Clean thumbnails. The engineered thumbnail is replaced with a real frame taken from the video itself. Hide Shorts. One toggle removes Shorts shelves, reels, and the sidebar button everywhere. Channel exceptions. Trust a creator? Pause Face Value on their channel and see them exactly as they publish. Hover any cleaned title, in the feed or on the watch page, to see the original. Live streams and search results are intentionally left untouched. No account required. No analytics and no trackers. The only data sent is the public video ids and titles on pages you view, and settings stay in your browser.
