Eye Fresh is a Google Chrome extension to remind users to give their eyes a break. Eye Fresh is designed to help users apply the 20-20-20 rule to their workflow. The 20-20-20 rule is a guideline which advises that for every 20 minutes spent on a digital device, the user should take a 20 second break and look at something 20 feet away. Applying the 20-20-20 rule is intended to reduce digital eye strain caused by looking at digital screens for extended periods of time. Eye Fresh will send the user a notification to help facilitate the 20-20-20 rule. To get the full Eye Fresh experience, please ensure that your computer is configured to receive notifications from Google Chrome. Mac users may take the following steps to configure their system: 1. Go to “System Settings” 2. Click on “Notifications” 3. Under “Application Notifications”, find Google Chrome and click the slider for “Allow Notifications” 4. Customize notifications to your liking

Amazing at how simple and effective it is! I do digital illustrations and I strain my eyes frequently by staring at the screen for countless of hours. Have been trying to get into a healthier routine for my eyes and this helps immensely

This is so simple I can't believe nobody has done this before. I'm a freelance writer and I need reading glasses so I'm constantly staring at the screen all day with my readers. The aptly-named Eye Fresh does just that, keeps your eyes fresh. The eye is a muscle and like any muscle it gets fatigued. So this is just a simple way to give your eyes, and your mind, a break from the screen.
