ExterminAI - Malicious Extension Detector
Overview
Continuous protection for your extensions: auto-scans, permission alerts, malicious-DB matches, and email notifications.
Protect your browser from malicious extensions ExterminAI monitors your installed browser extensions for known threats and suspicious changes. Scan manually at any time, or enable automatic monitoring to receive alerts when an extension matches the ExterminAI malicious-extension database or changes its permissions. Main features Known-malicious extension detection Compare installed extensions against ExterminAI’s continuously maintained database of harmful extensions reported by security researchers and threat-intelligence sources. Automatic monitoring Schedule checks every 12 hours, daily, weekly or monthly. When a malicious match is found, ExterminAI displays a badge alert and identifies the affected extension. Permission-change alerts Detect changes to declared permissions and host access after extension updates. Review what changed and which versions were involved. One-click removal Remove a detected malicious extension directly from the ExterminAI popup using Chrome’s confirmation prompt. Evidence and source reports Known-malicious matches include a link to the original security report so you can review the supporting evidence. Optional ExterminAI account Link the extension to an ExterminAI account to access: - Extension inventory across linked devices - Email alerts for malicious matches and permission changes - Permission-risk information - Scan history and security reports - Independent device management Account linking is optional. The extension’s manual scanning and local database checks work without an account. Deep extension analysis From the ExterminAI dashboard, submit selected extensions for deeper analysis using static analysis, sandboxed behavioural observation, network indicator checks and VirusTotal results. Reports can identify behaviours such as dynamic code execution, script injection, suspicious network communication and attempted data access. Privacy In anonymous mode, your installed-extension inventory stays on your device and is not sent to ExterminAI. The extension downloads the malicious-extension database and performs the comparison locally. When you explicitly link an ExterminAI account, your extension inventory is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in your account so that monitoring, dashboard and email-alert features can operate. You can unlink devices and delete synced data through your account settings.
