)Overview
Lightweight monitoring scaffold for Chrome extension inventory and change tracking.
Extension Watchtower helps you monitor the extensions installed in Chrome so you can quickly see what changed and decide what deserves attention. It keeps a local record of your installed extensions, detects meaningful changes over time, and highlights events that may matter more, such as new permissions, broader website access, unusual install types, and higher-risk updates. What it does: - Tracks installed Chrome extensions in your browser - Detects installs, removals, enable/disable changes, version changes, permission changes, and host access changes - Flags higher-risk changes with simple risk labels - Shows recent change history in a review-friendly interface - Lets you inspect a single extension and view its specific history - Sends optional notifications for meaningful events - Includes onboarding and in-app explanations so you can understand what the extension is monitoring and why Why people use it: Browser extensions can change over time. A normal update may be harmless, but sometimes an update adds permissions or expands access to more websites. Extension Watchtower gives you one place to review those changes instead of guessing what happened in the background. Built for clarity Extension Watchtower is designed to help you answer simple questions fast: - What changed? - Which extension changed? - Did it gain broader access? - Does this deserve review?
