Discover and manage suspicious browser extensions with a single click! Many extensions seem harmless, but during updates they can secretly gain access to phishing capabilities or unnecessary permissions ("privilege escalation"). Extension Trust Monitor serves as an in-browser security guard, continuously watching for risky activities. π‘οΈ Key Features: Continuous Monitoring: Watches every installed extension and detects critical changes in permissions. Understandable Risk Analysis (Risk Engine): Evaluates extensions on a scale from 0 to 100, and explains in plain language WHAT the danger of the requested permissions is. Audit Log: You can look back at when an extension was updated and when it requested new permissions, and then download the entire history in a JSON file. Content Protection (Watch Mode): Provides protection against "Clickjacking" and disguised intruders on highlighted pages (Optional). Settings & Exceptions: Tweak the sensitivity or whitelist trusted extensions to fit your workflow perfectly. Dark Mode Support: The modern user interface automatically adapts to your system's dark theme. π Privacy-First This extension *DOES NOT SEND DATA TO ANY SERVER*. All data β from profiling to logging β lives exclusively on your own computer. No telemetry. Why does it require the `management` permission? The Extension uses Chrome's *management API* (and the `management` manifest permission) to log installed applications (checking versions and permissions), in order to detect if a third-party application is maliciously trying to change its settings. The list of installed applications is never uploaded to any server. Warning (Limitations): *Extension Trust Monitor* audits Manifest-based permissions, thus performing well in most common cases, but it does not replace traditional anti-virus software that inspects executable code in memory.
