Paste a Chrome Web Store link, pick a format, and the extension's package lands in your downloads folder. That is the whole tool. You get two choices: CRX - the original signed package, exactly as Google serves it. Use this to archive a specific version or to install it again later. ZIP - the same package with its signature header stripped off. Unzip it and you can read manifest.json and every script inside. Use this to inspect what an extension actually does. HOW TO USE IT 1. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no tracking, no uninstall survey. The extension contacts exactly one server, Google's own public update endpoint, and the CRX to ZIP conversion runs locally in your browser. Package contents never reach a server of ours, because there is no server of ours. It also never uploads what you download to a third-party site. A NOTE ON FAIR USE Extension packages are served publicly and fetching one has been a normal debugging technique for years. The code inside is still the author's copyrighted work. Use this to inspect, audit, learn from, and back up. Do not use it to republish someone else's extension as your own.
