eXtab helps you manage browser tab clutter by finding duplicate tabs, identifying idle tabs, and providing optional context for tabs you may no longer need. What it does Find duplicate tabs eXtab scans your open tabs and identifies tabs with the same URL so you can review and close duplicates. Identify idle tabs eXtab shows tabs that have not been accessed for an extended period, helping you find tabs that may no longer be needed. Review an idle tab For an idle tab, you can optionally use Review Tab to generate a short AI-assisted explanation of the page and its surrounding tab context. This can help you decide whether to keep or close the tab. Switch or close tabs From the extension popup, you can switch to a selected tab or close it without searching through your entire tab bar. Privacy eXtab stores its tab-management data locally in your browser. The optional Review Tab feature sends the selected page's visible text and limited surrounding tab context directly to Google's Gemini API when you request a review. eXtab does not operate a backend server and does not sell user data. The AI review feature requires a Gemini API key provided by the user. The key is stored locally on the user's device. eXtab is free to use and does not require an account.
