Ask before closing, reloading, or leaving the pages you choose to protect.

Pause before you leave. Exit Alerts adds a confirmation step to help prevent accidental navigation away from pages you want to keep open. It includes a preset for ChatGPT Temporary Chat URLs and lets you add your own protected pages. FEATURES • Protect a specific path and its query parameters, or an entire site. • Start with the ChatGPT temporary-chat=true URL preset. Ordinary ChatGPT URLs are excluded by default. • Confirm ordinary same-tab link clicks before the page's navigation handler runs. • Confirm cancellable in-page URL changes. • Request Chrome's built-in warning for tab closing, reloading, and address-bar navigation. • Add the current URL, remove rules, and turn protection on or off from the popup. • Store URL rules locally in your browser. No analytics or conversation storage. On chatgpt.com, in-page confirmations start with “Before You Go.” Chrome controls the wording, buttons, and appearance of its own close/reload warning; the extension cannot customize it. HOW TO USE Open the extension popup, read the site-access explanation, and choose Enable ChatGPT protection. Allow access when Chrome asks; protection is inactive until then. Click or type in the page once so Chrome can activate its built-in exit warning. Add other URLs from the popup and grant access when Chrome asks. IMPORTANT LIMITS Exit Alerts is a warning tool, not a backup. Protection depends on the saved URL matching the current page. The temporary-chat preset requires temporary-chat=true in the URL. It cannot recover data that an app has already cleared, stop every Back/Forward action, or prevent crashes, forced shutdown, or actions that clear content without navigating.
