Excalidraw is a wonderful whiteboard, but it only remembers one drawing at a time. Excaliboard gives you as many boards as you need, organized in folders, and makes sure you never lose your work. It uses the real open-source Excalidraw editor, so drawing feels exactly the same: the same hand-drawn style, the same tools and shortcuts, in light or dark mode. 📁 Boards and folders Create a separate board for every project or idea and group them into folders. Drag boards between folders, pin your favorites to the top, and recognize each board by its live thumbnail. 🔎 Find anything Search looks inside your boards as well as at their names, so you can find a diagram by any word written in it. Press Ctrl+P (⌘P on Mac) to jump to any board from the keyboard. 🧩 Icon library for diagrams A built-in icon panel helps you sketch software architecture quickly. Search for a concept and Excaliboard suggests a matching generic icon along with the popular cloud services and tools that provide it. Click an icon, or drag it onto the canvas, and it is added with a label. The library works offline, and you can optionally search a much larger online collection of open-source icons. ⚡ Code to diagram Paste Mermaid code and see a live preview. Flowcharts become editable hand-drawn shapes and arrows that you can keep refining. ✨ Ask AI about your diagram Send your board, or just the part you selected, to ChatGPT or Claude in one click. The chat opens in a new tab with your diagram attached and your question typed in, ready for you to review. Nothing is sent until you press Enter yourself. 💾 Never lose work Every change is saved automatically. Version history lets you go back to earlier versions of a board, and deleted boards stay in the trash for 30 days. You can also mirror all boards as files into a folder on your computer, export a board or a whole folder as a PDF, and export or import everything as a zip file. ⬇️ Bring your existing drawing If you already have a drawing on excalidraw.com, you can import it into Excaliboard in one click. 🔒 Private by design There is no account, no server and no tracking. Your boards stay in your browser or in a folder you choose. Access to excalidraw.com, ChatGPT and Claude is optional and only requested the first time you use those features.
