Evidence Lens first identifies whether a page is breaking news, a standard news report, a news summary or analysis, an opinion piece, a research report, a general article, or an academic paper. It then applies standards appropriate to that form instead of scoring every page with the same checklist. It has no developer-operated analysis server, analytics, advertising, or account system. When requested, it may retrieve up to three public HTTPS cited-source pages without cookies, credentials, or referrer information. The score is a heuristic reference, not a fact-check verdict, reputation score, scientific validation, or professional advice. It has no academic standing and must not be used as academic evaluation, peer review, research validation, a publication decision, a grade, a credential, or proof of academic merit. Prominent data disclosure When you click Analyze, Evidence Lens reads the current page’s URL, visible article content, metadata, and links. For news and reports, it may also retrieve up to three public HTTPS pages linked as likely evidence. Processing occurs on your device; page content and generated summaries are not sent to the developer. Public source websites receive the direct network requests needed to retrieve their pages.
