Find out in seconds which companies and countries a website sends its visitors' data to, and whether they are inside the EU. EU Data Check is built for web agencies, freelance developers and data protection officers who audit websites for GDPR problems. Open any page, click the icon, and see every third party the page contacts, grouped by the company behind it, with a clear rating for each. WHY INSTALL IT • Audit a page in seconds instead of digging through the browser's network tools. • See the company, not just the domain: fonts.gstatic.com and www.googletagmanager.com both show up as Google LLC, part of Alphabet Inc. (United States). • Catch common German audit findings at a glance: Google Fonts loaded from Google servers, embedded YouTube, Google Maps and reCAPTCHA, and analytics or advertising that loaded within the first seconds of a page (clearly labelled as a heuristic: "may have loaded before consent"). • Trust the result: every company in the dataset is backed by sources such as company registers, SEC filings, imprints and official documentation, with the date it was last verified. The popup links to them. Where sources are missing, the rating is "Unknown". The tool never guesses. • Keep your own data private: everything runs on your device. The extension sends nothing to its developer or anyone else. No account, no analytics, no telemetry. WHAT IT SHOWS • Every third party the page contacts, grouped by company: legal entity, country, ultimate parent company and category (analytics, advertising, fonts, CDN, video, maps, captcha, payments, chat/support, consent management). • Who owns the network the response came from, and, for cloud regions the provider publishes, where the server is. • A rating per company and for the whole page: – EU-controlled: operator and network owner are companies controlled from the EU/EEA – EU location, non-EU control: served from an EU/EEA location, but controlled from outside – Non-EU: the operator or network owner is controlled from outside the EU/EEA – Unknown: not enough verified data • The reason behind every rating, for each company and each request. • The toolbar badge shows the page rating and the number of third parties before you even open the popup. HOW IT DECIDES A company counts as EU-controlled when it and its ultimate parent company are incorporated in the EU/EEA, and both facts are sourced. Switzerland, the United Kingdom and other countries outside the EU/EEA are shown by name and count as non-EU; adequacy decisions are not taken into account. The page rating is the worst rating among its third parties. PRIVACY All analysis happens on your device with data bundled in the extension. Results for a tab are kept in memory only and deleted when you close the tab or load another page. The free version sends nothing anywhere. With a Pro licence, the extension sends only the licence key, a random installation ID and its version number to our licence server, about once a month; never browsing data.
