Parts Cost Adjuster is a productivity extension designed for automotive repair shops using Tekmetric. It provides a simple way to account for credit card processing fees when entering parts purchased from vendors. The extension adds an “Apply CC Fee” button to part entries within Tekmetric. When selected, it automatically increases both the part cost and retail price by a user-configurable percentage, preserving the existing parts margin while accounting for the additional processing expense. The desired credit card fee percentage can be configured directly from the extension’s Chrome toolbar popup. The extension also includes safeguards designed to prevent the same fee from being accidentally applied to a part more than once. Parts Cost Adjuster operates only on shop.tekmetric.com and is intended to streamline an otherwise repetitive manual pricing calculation.
