Overview

Track and manage your Chrome extension updates in one place.

Extensions update automatically and silently. Extensions Update Tracker records every one of those updates, so you can always answer a simple question: what changed, and when? Every update is stored with the version it replaced and the moment it was detected. The toolbar badge counts what you have not reviewed yet; the history keeps the rest. Key features • Update alerts — a desktop notification the moment an extension updates, showing the version it came from and the version it moved to • Unread badge — the toolbar icon counts the updates you have not looked at yet • Full update history — every version of every extension the tracker has seen, with dates • Mark as read, with undo — clear the whole queue in one click, and restore it if you were too quick • Mute noisy extensions — stop the alerts for extensions that ship daily, while still recording their history • Auto-disable on update (optional) — an updated extension stays off until you review the change and switch it back on yourself • Search and sort — find an extension by name, order the list by most recent or most updated Who it is for Anyone who would rather have a record than a surprise. Extensions change hands, change behaviour and change permissions, and by default all of it happens in the background without a trace. A Chrome extension update history turns "this extension started acting strangely last week" into a date and a version number you can check. Permissions, in plain words • Management — reads which extensions you have installed and their version numbers. This is what makes update detection possible at all, and it is what the optional auto-disable setting uses. • Notifications — shows the update alerts. • Storage — keeps the update history on your own device. There are no host permissions and no content scripts: the extension cannot see the pages you visit or what you type on them. Privacy No account, no analytics, no servers. The extension makes no network requests at all. Your update history stays in your browser's local storage and is never sent anywhere.
