Episode Recorder saves authorized videos from supported learning portals as organized local episode files with resumable task progress. Key features: - Records the rendered video and its existing audio track into a separate local file for each completed episode. - Organizes output by series, chapter, section, and episode when that structure is available on the supported playback page. - Stores task progress locally so interrupted work can identify completed and unfinished episodes. - Exports completed files to a user-selected folder or to Downloads/Episode Recorder without uploading them to the developer. - Provides pause, resume, stop, retry, range, playback-speed, notification, and completion-report controls. How it works: 1. Sign in to a supported learning portal and open a video playback page containing content you own or have explicit permission to record. 2. Open Episode Recorder, choose the range and playback speed, optionally select an output folder, and start the task. 3. Keep Chrome running while the extension records and saves each completed episode locally. Permissions and privacy: Episode Recorder runs only on its supported HTTPS playback origin. It uses Tabs to briefly locate and manage the supported playback tab, Downloads to export local files, Storage to keep settings and resumable task state, Alarms for bounded task timeouts, Notifications for completion and errors, and Debugger only for a bounded trusted click on the current supported video when normal playback cannot start. The debugger session is detached immediately after the attempt. Unrelated tab metadata is not stored or transmitted. The extension handles supported-page catalog text, playback URLs, rendered media, local file metadata, settings, and task state only to provide its recording feature. This information stays on the device and is not sent to the developer or third-party analytics services. The extension contains no remotely hosted code.
