Install ChatVeil and open web.whatsapp.com. Your messages, chat previews, photos and profile pictures are blurred right away. Hover over anything to read it. Click the ChatVeil icon to choose a mode, or press Alt+X to turn protection on or off. How do I hide WhatsApp Web chats while screen sharing? Choose Screen Share mode in ChatVeil before your call. It covers every chat, name and photo with a solid block and turns off hover-reveal, so nothing slips out if your mouse passes over a chat. Hold F2 when you need a quick look. A banner at the top confirms the mode is on. How do I lock WhatsApp Web with a password? Open ChatVeil → Lock → set a 4 to 8 digit PIN. WhatsApp Web will show a lock screen when it opens, after you've been idle, or when you press Alt+Shift+L. The PIN is saved only as a secure hash on your own computer. It's a privacy screen for people nearby, not a replacement for locking your computer. Is ChatVeil safe? Does it read my messages? No. ChatVeil only adds a visual blur to the WhatsApp Web page inside your browser. It never stores, copies or sends your messages anywhere, and it makes no network requests at all.
