Automation Engine
Overview
JSON-driven web automation runner — drives the active tab via Chrome DevTools Protocol
Automation Engine is a developer-oriented browser automation tool. Write a small JSON script describing the steps you want — navigate, fill, click, read, wait for a network response, branch on a condition, loop over a list — then click Run. Features: • Single side-panel UI with a JSON editor, Run button, and live execution log • 17 built-in actions: goto, fill, get, click, wait, waitFor, press, evaluate, upload, selectOption, hover, dialog, describe, tab, waitForResponse, if, forEach • XPath locators with shadow-DOM piercing and cross-origin iframe support • Save scripts to a local library and load them back with one click • Bundled examples for quick starts • Variables and {{substitution}} for reusable templates • Retry budgets and fatal-error classification built into the interpreter Everything runs locally in your browser. The extension does not connect to any external server and does not collect or transmit data. Documentation: https://github.com/mjahmed-wd/automation-engine/blob/main/README.md
