Overview

Click any form field or table column to inspect its HTML details, CSS selector, and XPath, with live Odoo field info when available.

nderstand Odoo fields directly from the page you’re working on. Odoo Field Inspector lets you click a form field, field label, or table column header to open an inspection panel with technical details. Use it to investigate field behavior, support Odoo customizations, and gather selectors for testing. • Inspect Odoo field definitions — See technical field names and, when available, live metadata including the model, ORM type, related model, required and read-only settings, storage status, related paths, help text, and selection options. • Explore form fields — View HTML element types, IDs, names, CSS classes, placeholders, current and default values, and required, read-only, or disabled states. • Inspect table and grid columns — Check column names, positions, HTML structure, and parent table information. • Copy useful details — Copy generated CSS selectors, XPath expressions, and Odoo field XML snippets. Copy the complete inspection result as readable text or structured JSON. • Examine HTML attributes — Review validation rules, data attributes, ARIA attributes, and an HTML preview. • Control your inspection experience — Enable form and list detection independently, toggle field highlighting, and save your preferred copy format. Getting started: 1. Open the page you want to inspect. 2. Click the extension icon and enable the inspector. 3. Click a field, label, or column header to view its details. 4. Copy the information you need. Press Esc or click × to close the panel. The inspector activates only on the tab you explicitly enable. Preferences are stored locally in your browser. For live Odoo metadata, it makes read-only requests to your current Odoo server using your existing signed-in session. No third-party analytics or tracking services are included. Live metadata depends on successful model detection and your Odoo account’s access permissions. Standard HTML inspection also works on supported non-Odoo pages.
