OpenMark - Bookmark Search
Overview
Search your bookmarks in real time and open them instantly with the keyboard.
OpenMark turns your bookmarks into something you can actually find. Press Ctrl+Shift+K (Cmd+Shift+K on Mac), start typing, and matching bookmarks appear as you type. Move with the arrow keys, press Enter, done. No mouse, no menus, no digging through folders. SEARCH THAT KEEPS UP WITH YOU - Searches bookmark titles, URLs and folder names at the same time - Multiple words are combined, so "gh api docs" narrows things down fast - Partial and out-of-order matching finds a bookmark when you only remember a fragment of its name - Matching characters are highlighted, so you can see why a result came up - Up to 20 best matches, ranked by how closely they match - The top result is selected the moment you start typing, so Enter is enough BUILT FOR THE KEYBOARD - Ctrl+Shift+K / Cmd+Shift+K Open OpenMark (change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts) - Up / Down Move through the results - Enter Open in a new tab - Cmd(Ctrl) + Enter Open in the current tab - Shift + Enter Open in a new window - Esc Clear the query, or close the popup - Cmd(Ctrl) + , Appearance settings MAKE IT YOURS - Light and dark themes, following your system or pinned to one - Seven accent colors - English and Japanese, following your browser language or pinned to one - Your choices sync to the other browsers you are signed in to PRIVACY OpenMark reads your bookmarks so it can search them, and that is the only thing it does with them. Nothing is uploaded, tracked, profiled or sold, and every search runs on your own device. The only thing it stores is your three display choices: accent color, theme and language. Bookmark titles, URLs, search keywords and browsing history are never saved. Site icons come from your browser's own local cache first, with no network request at all. When an icon is not cached, OpenMark asks Google's favicon service for it and sends only the domain name, never the page title or the full URL. If that fails too, a colored letter tile is drawn locally. Permissions requested: - bookmarks read your bookmarks (read-only; never creates, edits or deletes) - storage save the three display choices above - favicon read site icons from the browser's local cache The "tabs" permission is not requested. OpenMark is open source. Issues and pull requests are welcome: https://github.com/ty-0414/Chrome-Extension-OpenMark
