Overview

One job. Don't let you destroy production.

You have 40 tabs open. Three of them look the same: local, staging, and production. You're in the middle of an incident, you switch tabs, and you click Delete on what you thought was staging. ProdGuard makes that mistake a lot harder to make. What it does Marks production tabs so you can't miss them. A colored border wraps the page, and a small badge shows the environment and site, for example PROD · app.acme.com. The badge fades when your mouse goes over it and clicks pass through, so it never covers a button you need. Puts [PROD] in the tab title, so you can tell tabs apart in the tab strip before you click. Stops destructive clicks on production. Buttons like Delete, Drop, Terminate, and Purge get a dashed red outline. Click one and ProdGuard pauses and asks you to type PROD before the click goes through. You can add your own danger words. Tags a tab in one click from the toolbar icon: Production, Staging, Dev / Local, or Sandbox. Or write rules to tag whole sites automatically. Rules in plain English. Match a whole domain, one host, or a single path. Each rule shows what it matches, with example URLs you can copy. Your own environments. Add QA, UAT, Demo, whatever you use. Pick colors and border styles, and ProdGuard warns you when two environments look too alike. Export and import your setup as a JSON file to share with your team. Privacy Everything stays in your browser. Rules and settings are saved with chrome.storage.local. ProdGuard makes no network requests and has no analytics or tracking. It looks at the page URL and button text to do its job, and it doesn't read or store what you type into forms. Built for developers, SREs, and anyone with a production environment worth protecting.
