Overview

Analyze entity salience in a text block or bulk CSV using the Google Natural Language API. Export to Excel, CSV, or JSON.

Entity salience is Google's own estimate of how central a thing is to a piece of text. It runs from 0 to 1, and the scores across all entities in a document add up to roughly 1 — so salience is a share of attention, not a word count. An entity mentioned twice in a tight, focused page can outrank one mentioned ten times in a sprawling one. That makes it a useful check on a question keyword tools cannot answer: is this page actually about the thing I meant it to be about? Entity Salience Analyzer puts that check in your browser. Paste a block of copy or upload a CSV of pages, and it returns the ranked entity list straight from Google's Cloud Natural Language API, ready to export. WHAT IT DOES • Single text block — paste body copy, get back every entity the API found, ranked by salience, with the entity type, mention count, and a Knowledge Graph link where Google recognises the entity. • CSV and Excel batch — upload a file with a column of URLs and a column of text. The extension detects your headers, previews the mapping, estimates the cost before you run anything, and works through the file with a progress bar and a cancel button. • Exports — Excel, CSV or JSON. The Excel workbook carries three sheets: a grouped sheet with entity_1 through entity_N across columns, a long sheet with one row per entity, and a run-info sheet recording the settings used. • Entity sentiment — optional. Switches the call to analyzeEntitySentiment and adds a sentiment score and magnitude per entity. • Controls that matter on real files — entities kept per row, language, document type, and a delay between calls so large batches stay inside your Google Cloud quota. • A usage counter that tracks characters sent and estimated billable units, so a 2,000-row file does not become a surprise on the invoice. WHO IT IS FOR SEO and content teams checking that a page's entity profile matches its target topic. Ecommerce teams auditing whether collection page copy is about the category or about shipping policy. Anyone building FAQ answer blocks and trying to work out which ones read as being about the question asked. It is also a straight replacement for the Colab notebook version of this workflow. The export schema is identical, so anything downstream that reads those columns keeps working. SETUP You bring your own Google Cloud API key, which means you see your own usage and pay your own bill with no markup from us. 1. Create a Google Cloud project. 2. Enable the Cloud Natural Language API. 3. Create an API key under APIs & Services → Credentials. 4. Restrict the key to the Cloud Natural Language API. Restrict by API, not by HTTP referrer — referrer restrictions break requests from extensions. 5. Paste the key into the API Key tab. Google's free tier covers the first 5,000 units per month, where a unit is 1,000 characters rounded up per request. Current pricing is linked from inside the extension.
