Overview

Local-first AI web clipper.

Engram — Web Clipper with On-Device AI Save any article, recipe, or research page as a clean, readable note — and get an instant summary without sending your data anywhere. WHAT MAKES ENGRAM DIFFERENT šŸ›”ļø Most clipping tools either strip too much, leave in the clutter, or run your content through external AI servers you have no control over. Engram does the AI processing directly on your computer using Chrome's built-in AI. Your reading habits and saved content stay private. WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH IT Clip any webpage with a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+E) and get a clean, ad-free version saved straight to your notes folder. Works great with Obsidian, Logseq, Notion, or any folder on your computer. Shopping on Amazon? Engram can read through the customer reviews for you and give you a clear verdict — what people like, what breaks, and whether it's worth buying. šŸ›’ FEATURES ✨ ⭐ One-click clipping with a keyboard shortcut ⭐ Removes ads, popups, and sidebars automatically ⭐ On-device AI summaries — nothing sent to external servers ⭐ Amazon review analysis across regional storefronts (amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, and more) ⭐ Clip history so you always know what was saved and when ⭐ Clips finish in the background even if you close the extension REQUIREMENTS āš™ļø Chrome 127 or later is required. Clipping works out of the box — AI summaries and review synthesis require a one-time setup to download Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model. The AI features are optional; the extension works without them. SETTING UP AI FEATURES Step 1 — Enable the Chrome flags Open chrome://flags in a new tab and enable the following two flags: "Prompt API for Gemini Nano" → Enabled "Optimization Guide On Device Model" → Enabled BypassPerfRequirement (if you don't see that option, just pick Enabled) Then click Relaunch or fully restart Chrome. Step 2 — Download the model Open chrome://components and find "Optimization Guide On Device Model". Click "Check for update" and keep Chrome open while it downloads. The model can be several GB and may take a few minutes. Once it shows as up to date, restart Chrome one more time. Step 3 — Confirm it's ready (optional) Open chrome://on-device-internals and check that Model Status shows as downloaded. Alternatively, open DevTools and run: await LanguageModel.availability({ languages: ['en'], outputLanguage: 'en' }); You should see "available". If you see "downloadable", go back to chrome://components and click Check for update again. TROUBLESHOOTING šŸ”§ "Optimization Guide On Device Model" not showing in chrome://components — make sure both flags are enabled, then restart Chrome and check again. Availability stays "unavailable" — confirm you're on Chrome 127 or later, use "Enabled BypassPerfRequirement" for the optimization guide flag, and restart after the download completes. Model download never starts — leave Chrome open on chrome://components and try Check for update again after a minute. Check chrome://on-device-internals for progress or error details.
