Real-time notifications with SignalR and Windows Toast
Engage360 Agent Helper is a browser extension designed for call centre agents using the Engage360 platform. It works alongside a companion Windows desktop application (Engage360 Helper App) to deliver real-time chat notifications, call accept/reject actions, and SIP status updates directly in the browser. The extension communicates with the desktop app using Chrome's Native Messaging API (com.voxtron.notification). This connection enables the companion app to push real-time SignalR notifications, call events, and SIP status updates into the browser without any manual interaction from the agent. Broad host permissions are required because the Engage360 platform is deployed on customer-specific domains that vary across organisations. The extension must be able to activate on whichever URL a particular organisation hosts their Engage360 instance, making it impossible to restrict to a single fixed domain. This extension is intended for use by call centre agents and requires the Engage360 Helper desktop application to be installed and running on the same machine.
