Overview

ManageEngine Endpoint Central DEX: Access device info and insights in tickets to troubleshoot faster, without switching tabs.

The EndpointCentral DEX extension lets IT technicians see endpoint information and experience insights without leaving the ticket they are working on. Technicians can investigate device issues from their ITSM or ticketing page instead of switching to the Endpoint Central console. Key Capabilities Device Lookup Search for managed devices by hostname directly from the extension. The extension retrieves the device information from the configured Endpoint Central environment, allowing technicians to access endpoint details without navigating to the Endpoint Central console. DEX Score View the DEX Score and baseline of the selected device. The DEX Score provides an indication of the endpoint's experience based on metrics related to endpoint performance, reliability, responsiveness, and application health. The score helps technicians identify devices that require attention. Device Details View essential device information directly from the extension, including: Hardware: IP address, MAC address, serial number, processor, and branch office Software: Operating system, OS version, name, and service pack User and agent details: Logged-on user, last boot time, agent version, domain, and related information Endpoint Health View endpoint health metrics to identify performance and reliability issues. The extension provides L1 and L2 health views with metrics such as: CPU usage Memory usage GPU usage Disk utilization Wi-Fi signal strength Wi-Fi transmit rate Application crashes System crashes Hard resets Logon duration Boot duration Health indicators help technicians identify metrics that require attention and investigate endpoint issues. EndpointCentral DEX uses telemetry across areas such as endpoint performance, reliability, responsiveness, and application reliability to evaluate endpoint experience. Remote Actions Technicians can initiate supported workflow actions without navigating to the Endpoint Central console. The execution status is updated through the following stages: Triggered → In Progress → Success / Failed The available actions depend on the scripts and workflows configured in EndpointCentral DEX. DEX supports scripts and workflows for automated remediation and endpoint actions. Automatic Device Detection The extension can automatically detect a device hostname from a configured ticket or ITSM page. To configure automatic device detection: Configure the URL pattern of the ticket page. Use the element picker to identify the element containing the device hostname. Configure the required hostname transformation, if necessary. Save the configuration. When a configured page is opened, the extension can: Detect the device hostname. Display the DEX floating action button. Open the DEX panel. Retrieve the information for the detected device. The extension supports wildcard URL patterns, for example: https://example.com/devices/*/details Regular-expression transformations can also be configured to extract or modify the detected hostname before performing the device lookup. Floating Action Button The floating action button provides quick access to the DEX panel from configured ticket pages. When the button is selected, the DEX panel opens as an overlay while the ticket page remains visible. This allows technicians to access endpoint information without navigating away from the ticket. Side Panel The browser extension supports a side panel in Chrome and Edge. The side panel allows technicians to view DEX information alongside the ticket page while continuing their investigation in the ITSM application. Regions The extension works with Endpoint Central Cloud in all supported regions. Choose your data centre when you sign in, and requests go to the matching environment. Configuration Sharing Administrators and technicians can configure URL patterns and element-picker settings for automatic device detection. Configurations can be saved with the following visibility options: Private: The configuration is available only to the user who created it. Shared: The configuration is available to other users in the organization. Shared configurations allow administrators to define a configuration once and make it available to technicians who use the same ITSM or ticketing application. Use Cases The EndpointCentral DEX browser extension can be used by: IT Help Desk Technicians: Access endpoint information and DEX insights while working on tickets. IT Administrators: Provide endpoint experience information within existing ITSM workflows. Support Engineers: Investigate endpoint performance, reliability, and health issues directly from the ticketing interface. Privacy and Security The extension communicates only with your Endpoint Central Cloud environment and Zoho OAuth services. Sign-in uses OAuth, so your Endpoint Central password is never entered into or stored by the extension. Authentication tokens are kept in local browser extension storage.
