Overview
Verify provenance for any text, image, audio, or video on the web. Powered by C2PA -- cryptographic proof of origin.
Verify provenance across text, images, audio, and video: no account required. Every day, content moves across the web without proof of who made it. Encypher Verify brings cryptographic provenance to your browser: it detects and verifies proof of origin in text, images, audio, and video on any website, instantly. Right-click any image, audio element, or video to verify its provenance on demand. Automatic detection identifies signed images as you browse, no action required. The "Media on page" section in the popup shows every detected media element and its verification status at a glance. What you can verify: - Text: Detects invisible cryptographic markers (C2PA text manifests and zero-width character embeddings) on any webpage. Inline badges show verification status directly in the page. - Images: Right-click any image to verify its Content Credentials. Automatic background scanning detects signed images via lightweight header inspection (first 4KB only). Verified images get a floating badge overlay. - Audio and video: Right-click any audio or video element to verify, files up to 50MB, no sign-in required. - Documents: Linked documents (including PDFs) carrying Content Credentials are detected and verifiable from the popup. What you can sign (free account): - Sign your own content directly in the browser with invisible cryptographic markers that survive copy-paste and distribution. - Create a free account without leaving the extension: continue with Google or use your email with a one-time code, both behind an explicit Terms and Privacy consent checkbox. Existing API keys and dashboard accounts keep working. - Works in popular online document editors, AI writing tools, webmail, and social composers, anywhere you can type. - Choose your proof mode (Minimal, Embedded, or Compatible) and signing frequency (per document, section, paragraph, or sentence). - A free monthly signing allowance with a visual usage meter. Automatic detection: When you visit a page containing images with provenance markers, Encypher Verify identifies them using lightweight Range requests that inspect only the first 4KB of each file: never full downloads. A built-in circuit breaker enforces a strict per-page bandwidth budget with concurrency caps and a cooldown between scans. You can enable or disable auto-detection in settings. Detection only triggers on content that carries provenance markers, pages without signed content show no results. How it works: 1. For readers and fact-checkers: Browse normally. When a page contains signed content, Encypher Verify shows verified status inline with signer identity and timestamp. Right-click any media element to verify on demand. 2. For authors (optional, free account): Create a free account directly in the extension, or paste an existing API key, then use the Sign tab or inline editor buttons to embed cryptographic proof before publishing. Verification never requires an account. 3. For publishers: Deploy proof of origin across your editorial workflow. Every article, image, and media asset can carry verifiable provenance that persists through distribution. Why Encypher Verify is different: Encypher Verify is built on C2PA Content Credentials, the open industry standard for content provenance. Encypher co-chairs the C2PA Text Provenance Task Force and authored Section A.7 of the specification, published January 8, 2026. This is not proprietary detection or statistical guessing: it is cryptographic proof embedded in the content itself. Verification works for all media types with no account or login required. Signing includes a free monthly allowance: create a free account directly in the extension or use an existing API key. Privacy and security: - API key stored securely in local browser storage - Only candidate content blocks are sent for verification, never full pages - 1-hour local verification cache eliminates redundant API calls - Anonymous discovery analytics (always on, no personal identifiers) - Auto-scan inspects only image headers (4KB), not full file content Support: - Documentation: encypher.com/docs - Email: support@encypher.com
