Overview

Custom new tab: swipeable pages, freeform bookmarks, islands, notes and to-do widgets, search, 15 clock styles, liquid glass.

Launchpad replaces the new tab page with a desktop you arrange yourself. Everything is stored in your browser. No account, no server, no analytics. SHORTCUTS AND ISLANDS • Place shortcuts anywhere on the page • Group them into islands: move, resize by the corner, style individually • Open an island as a named Chrome tab group in one click • Icons fetched automatically, or upload your own • Right-click any page or link to save it PAGES • Any number of pages, up to 12, named by you • Switch with page dots, Alt + 1 to 9, Alt + left/right, or a horizontal trackpad swipe • Each page has its own wallpaper, clock, glass, dock, accent, icon size, labels, weather, widgets, search bar and greeting • Duplicate a page to copy its look and contents • Five page transitions: none, fade, slide, zoom, flip SEARCH AND QUICK LAUNCH • Optional search bar, focused when the tab opens • Type a few letters, press Enter, go straight to a matching shortcut • Matches across every page, not only the current one • Bang prefixes pick an engine for one search: !yt, !gh, !w, !npm • 15 engines included; add, edit or remove any of them • Press / or Ctrl + K to focus the bar WIDGETS • Notes: a text pad that saves as you type • To-do: checkboxes, inline editing, progress count, clear completed • Countdown: days until or since a date, optionally repeating yearly • Drag to move, drag the corner to resize, same grid and guides as islands • Per widget panel style, tint, text colour and corner radius SELECTING AND ARRANGING • Shift-click, or drag a box across the wallpaper, to select several shortcuts • Move the whole selection in one drag • Group the selection into an island, tidy it into a block, or delete it • Ctrl + A selects every loose shortcut • Alignment guides while dragging; hold Alt to place freely • Resizing the window scales the arrangement instead of rearranging it LIQUID GLASS • Panels refract the wallpaper at the rim instead of only blurring it • Seven sliders drive every panel on a page at once • Four materials per surface: Liquid, Frosted, Solid, Flat WALLPAPER • Colour, gradient, or an image by URL or upload • Uploads resized to your display • Brightness, contrast, saturation, dim, grain SLIDESHOW • Any number of wallpapers per page • Interval from seconds to a day, or a new one on every new tab • 8 transitions: fade, dissolve, slide, push, wipe, zoom, blur, cut • Duration, easing and direction per transition, plus optional slow zoom PATTERNS • 16 shapes over a colour or gradient: hexagons, grid, dots, lines, crosshatch, triangles, diamonds, rings, scales, waves, zigzag, crosses, bricks, cubes, checker, stars • Size 4px to 800px, plus thickness, angle, opacity, colour • Outline or solid, 8 blend modes, vertical fade CLOCK • 15 styles: Classic, Stacked, Word clock, Outline, Digital, Seven segment, Dot matrix, Flip cards, Terminal, Neon, Day bar, Meters, Binary, Orbit, Analog • 12 analog dials: Minimal, Dots, Numerals, Roman, Railway, Rings, Braun, Bauhaus, Skeleton, Sectors, Sun and moon, Halo • 15 typefaces, size, weight, colour, 12 or 24 hour, seconds, date line • Fixed-width digits, so the clock does not shift as seconds tick • Drag it anywhere WEATHER • Four layouts, from a bare temperature to a full card • Optional five-day strip, city search, Celsius or Fahrenheit • Refreshes at most every 15 minutes; only your coordinates are sent GREETING • Optional line such as "Good evening, Alex" • Four editable time-of-day phrases, or one custom line • {name}, {time} and {date} are filled in automatically • Typeface, size, weight, colour, placed anywhere BACKUP • Export every page, with shortcuts, islands, widgets and look, as one JSON file • Import it back on any machine PRIVACY • All data stays in this browser • No accounts, no servers, no analytics • Tab access is requested only when you open an island as tabs What is new in 1.5.0 • Pages. Up to 12, each with its own shortcuts, islands, widgets and its own full set of appearance settings. Page dots, keyboard shortcuts, trackpad swipe, five transitions. • Widgets: notes, to-do and countdown. Draggable and resizable, with the same snapping, guides and glass as islands. • Search bar with bang prefixes and a fuzzy quick launcher over saved shortcuts on every page. 15 editable engines. • Greeting line. Off by default, fully editable wording. • Multi-select. Shift-click or drag a marquee, then move, tidy, group or delete the selection in one action. • Settings rebuilt: draggable title bar, grouped scrolling sidebar, General first, two columns on wide screens. 12 tabs, nearly all fitting without scrolling. • Fixed: glass settings were reset on every page load. A v1.2 migration deleted the whole glass object instead of the single obsolete key it targeted, so refraction, bevel, cloudiness and dispersion never persisted. • Fixed: text in a modal field could not be selected by dragging. The page-wide user-select: none reached into form fields, and a drag ending outside the modal counted as a backdrop click and closed it. Fields are selectable, and a dialog now closes only on a press that starts on the backdrop, never on a release. • Fixed: islands did not wrap tightly around their shortcuts. The header set the panel's minimum width, so a one-column island was over 50% wider than its icons, and a larger title size made the gap worse. The header is out of flow now, so the panel is sized by its shortcuts alone. • Fixed: renaming or deleting a page opened its dialog behind the settings window. • Fixed: emptying a page brought the six starter shortcuts back on the next load. • Fixed: deleting a wallpaper used by more than one page removed it from the other pages too. • Fixed: Apply to all islands overwrote their column counts and reverted hand-sized panels. It now copies the panel, tint and roundness only, and is labelled Apply style to all. • Widget style controls now have an Apply style to all widgets button. Previously they only affected the next widget created. What is new in 1.4.3 • Islands keep their positions when the window is resized. • The arrangement scales to fit instead of being rearranged. • The clock and weather panel scale with it. • Fixed: unreadable group headings in the settings dropdowns. What is new in 1.4.2 • Wallpaper slideshow with 8 transitions, duration, easing and direction. • 8 more clock styles and 6 more analog dials. • Background patterns over colour and gradient backgrounds. • Fixed: the no-flash load never ran once installed, since Manifest V3 blocks inline script. Moved to boot.js.
