Turn it on, send your email, and watch the ticks change from gray to teal the moment your recipient opens it — right on the thread row and inside the message itself. Sign in with Google and start tracking. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install the extension and open Gmail (mail.google.com). 2. Sign in with your Google account when prompted (one-time). 3. Click Compose and write your email as usual. 4. Click the double-tick toggle next to Send to turn tracking on for that email. 5. Send the email — a gray double-tick appears on the thread row and message. 6. When your recipient opens the email, the ticks turn teal — on both the thread row and the message view. 7. Click the toolbar icon any time to open your tracking dashboard and see all tracked emails at a glance. PRIVACY & SECURITY Email Tracker for Gmail is built extension-first — there is no separate account system holding your data hostage: • Your tracking data lives in your own Firestore project space, protected by security rules that only allow you to read your own records. • The only server-side code involved is a single tracking-pixel endpoint that records opens — it never reads your email content, subject lines, or recipients' identities. • Sign-in uses Google's own OAuth flow (chrome.identity) — your Gmail credentials are never seen or stored by this extension. • A dynamic Chrome network rule blocks the sender's own browser from firing a false "open," and a 30-second server-side guard filters out mail client prefetches. • No email content is ever read or transmitted — only whether and when the tracking pixel was requested.
