Email Send Guard is a lightweight email safety extension designed to help users avoid accidental or unintended email sending. The extension works by performing real-time checks at the moment an email is about to be sent and alerts the user if potential risks are detected, such as: Mixed or unusual recipient domains Multiple external recipients added unintentionally Recipient patterns that commonly lead to misdirected emails How it works- The extension operates only when the user initiates the send action. It analyzes recipient metadata (such as email domains and recipient count) locally within the browser. If a potential risk is detected, the user is shown a confirmation prompt before the email is sent. The final decision to send or cancel always remains with the user. Privacy & Data Handling- Email Send Guard does not read, store, or transmit email content. No email body, attachments, or message text are accessed. Recipient checks are performed locally and are not logged. The extension does not send data to external servers. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected, stored, or shared. Intended Use- Helps reduce accidental data exposure caused by human error Suitable for professional and enterprise users Designed as a preventive safety aid, not a monitoring or tracking tool Permissions Justification- The extension requests only the minimum permissions required to: Detect when the user initiates an email send action Read recipient fields for validation at send time Display warnings or confirmation dialogs Email Send Guard does not perform background tracking, does not monitor unrelated browsing activity, and remains inactive unless the user is composing and sending an email.
