Overview

Remember what you searched and what you found. Every search, the pages you opened from it, and one-click bookmarks.

# Chrome Web Store listing: Searchmarks Copy these into the Developer Dashboard. Limits are noted where the store sets them. ## Store listing tab **Name:** Searchmarks **Short description** (132 characters max): > Remember what you searched and what you found. Every search, the pages you opened from it, and one-click bookmarks. **Category:** Productivity **Language:** English **Description:** > Ever found the perfect answer, then lost it a week later? Searchmarks remembers each search you make, and the pages you actually read from it. > > - **Searches with their pages:** each search on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and more is listed with the pages you opened from it, including pages you clicked into from there. > - **See what you read:** pages you spent time on are marked ✓. > - **Categories as tags:** file searches into topics like "Travel" or "Work", more than one if they fit. New searches that clearly match are filed automatically, and you can move or clean up many at once. > - **On-device AI:** with Chrome's built-in AI (Gemini Nano), suggest a category or a label, find related past searches, see what you haven't looked at yet, summarize a category, or filter with plain words like "macOS issues". It runs on your computer; nothing is sent anywhere. > - **Dead ends:** see at a glance which searches didn't find you anything worth reading. > - **Journey map:** the click path from a search to every page you reached from it. > - **One-click bookmarks:** save any page into a real Chrome bookmark folder you choose, from the list or from the toolbar, or bookmark a whole category's pages at once. > - **Manage your bookmarks:** browse, search and reorganize your Chrome bookmarks in a fast, searchable view. > - **Export:** download a search or a whole category as Markdown, an Obsidian note or CSV, and your bookmarks as HTML. > > **Private by design:** everything stays in your browser, including the AI features. Searchmarks has no servers, and nothing is uploaded, sold or shared. Nothing is recorded until you turn it on. Pause at any time, exclude sites and words, or delete everything in one click. Never active in incognito. > > **Getting started:** > 1. **Turn on recording** on the welcome screen. Searchmarks finds your searches from the last 90 days. > 2. **Search as usual.** New searches and the pages you open appear automatically. > 3. **Sort them:** create categories with +, then tag searches with the dropdown, accept the green suggestions, or click ✨ to ask the AI. > 4. **Save a page:** click ☆ Bookmark on any page and choose a folder, or use the toolbar popup on the page you're reading. > 5. **Stay in control:** ⚙ Settings has pause, ignore lists, retention, backup and delete. **Screenshots** (1280×800, upload in this order): in [`store/`](store/), made from sample data, not anyone's real history. 1. `store/1-searches.png`: Searches tab with tags, a dead end and the AI filter 2. `store/2-journey.png`: journey map of one search 3. `store/3-popup.png`: toolbar popup on a result page 4. `store/4-bookmarks.png`: Bookmarks tab 5. `store/5-save-dialog.png`: save dialog with the folder picker **Small promo tile:** `store/promo-440x280.png` **Icon:** `extension/icons/icon128.png` ## Privacy practices tab **Single purpose:** > Searchmarks keeps a private, searchable record of the user's web searches and the pages opened from them, so they can find and bookmark what they found. **Permission justifications:** | Permission | Justification | | --- | --- | | history | Reads the user's Chrome history to find past searches and the pages opened from each, and to show the History tab. Only search results pages and pages reached from them are kept. | | webNavigation | Detects when the user runs a search and which pages they open from it, so new searches appear without waiting for a history read. | | tabs | Reads the active tab's title and URL to label captured pages, measure how long a result page is in front, and show the current page in the popup. | | bookmarks | Saves pages as Chrome bookmarks in the folder the user chooses, and powers the Bookmarks tab. | | storage | Stores the user's searches, categories and settings locally. | | unlimitedStorage | Search records can exceed the default local storage quota for heavy users; nothing leaves the device. | | alarms | Reads newly recorded searches from history every 30 minutes. | **Remote code:** No, I am not using remote code. **Data usage:** check **Web history** (the extension handles it). Leave every other type unchecked. Then certify: - I do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, outside of the approved use cases. - I do not use or transfer user data for purposes that are unrelated to my item's single purpose. - I do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. **Privacy policy URL:** https://searchmarks.deepairesearch.dev/searchmarks/privacy/ (source: `site/searchmarks/` in the email_agent repo; `docs/privacy.html` here is the same text) ## Before submitting - [ ] `npm test` passes - [ ] `npm run build`, then upload `dist/searchmarks-<version>.zip` - [ ] Bump `version` in both `extension/manifest.json` and `package.json` for each new upload
