WHAT YOU CAN DO Record a single browser tab — captures the page, tab audio, your camera bubble and any on-screen highlights you draw. Record a single application window — pick Figma, your code editor, a video conference window, anything. Record your entire screen — including system audio (optional) for software demos. Draw on top of anything while you record — spotlight, pen, circle, arrow, and a real backdrop-blur region for hiding sensitive information. Show your face in a draggable webcam bubble — choose a circle or square shape, blur the background, or upload up to three custom backdrops. Touch up your camera frame — selfie segmentation runs entirely in your browser, with optional skin smoothing at Low, Medium or High intensity. Auto-frame your face so you stay centered while you move. Stop recording and download the .webm immediately, or upload to your own Google Drive in one click to get a shareable link. HIGHLIGHT TOOLS (built into the recording toolbar) Spotlight — darkens the screen and lights up wherever your cursor goes. Useful for guiding viewers through a tutorial. Pen — freehand drawing in red, yellow, blue or white. Circle and arrow — call attention to a specific element. Blur — drag a rectangle over account numbers, names, tokens or anything sensitive. Uses a real CSS backdrop blur, so what's underneath cannot be read in your recording. Undo and Clear All. Spotlight follows your cursor naturally. Pen, circle, arrow and blur regions stay anchored to the page content you drew them on — scroll the page and they scroll with it. CAMERA BUBBLE The webcam bubble is a real on-page element that you can drag anywhere — your viewers see your face exactly where you placed it. Choose a circle or square shape, three sizes (small, medium, large), and mirror or not. Replace your background with a real-time virtual backdrop. Two studio options are built in (Navy, Slate, Modern Office, Warm Studio). You can also upload up to three of your own images. Optional skin touch-up runs as a local frequency-separation pipeline. No frames are sent to any server. In Window or Entire Screen mode, the bubble is also composited at the bottom-right corner of the recording so it stays visible even when you switch to a non-Chrome window. AUDIO Microphone is recorded by default with echo cancellation and noise suppression enabled, sampled at 48 kHz in mono — what voice codecs prefer. In Tab mode the captured tab's audio is mixed in automatically. In Screen mode you can opt into system audio via Chrome's "Share system audio" checkbox. Pick a specific microphone or camera device from the popup if you have more than one connected. SAVE YOUR WAY Download the .webm to your computer — fully yours, no upload required, works offline. Or connect Google Drive in a single click and the recording uploads directly to your own Drive with an "anyone with the link" share URL ready to copy. Recordings are encoded as WebM with the VP9 video codec and Opus audio. Bitrate adapts to your capture resolution: 4 Mbps at 720p, 8 Mbps at 1080p, 14 Mbps at 1440p, 24 Mbps at 4K — so 4K screens record crisply and 720p tabs stay light. PRIVACY El Ojo only requests the Google Drive drive.file scope. That means El Ojo can only see files it creates itself. We never see your existing Drive content. We do not know your other files exist. Camera processing — selfie segmentation, background replacement, skin touch-up — runs entirely in your browser. Video frames never leave your computer. We do not run analytics or ad networks. We do not share data with third parties. Authentication uses Chrome's native identity API, so we never see your Google password.
