KDP Launch Check helps self-publishers review their books before publishing through Kindle Direct Publishing. Use the extension to check book metadata, calculate paperback cover dimensions, estimate margins and royalties, inspect basic PDF properties, complete a publishing checklist, and save book projects for later. FEATURES • Metadata preflight Review your book title, subtitle, author name, description, and keyword phrases. The extension highlights common metadata issues and wasted keyword space. • Publishing checklist Track important steps before submitting your book, including metadata, categories, pricing, manuscript review, cover review, and publishing settings. • Cover and spine calculator Calculate paperback spine width, full-wrap cover dimensions, and recommended 300-DPI pixel dimensions using trim size, page count, ink, and paper selections. • Margin and gutter calculator Estimate minimum inside, outside, top, and bottom margins based on page count and bleed settings. • Royalty and profit estimates Estimate printing cost, royalty per sale, profit margin, break-even price, target pricing, and projected monthly earnings. • Basic PDF inspection Check an interior PDF for page count, page dimensions, inconsistent page sizes, possible two-page spreads, encryption, and other common setup issues. • Saved book projects Save book information locally, restore drafts, and import or export project backups as JSON files. • Side panel and full-page modes Use KDP Launch Check beside your publishing dashboard in Chrome’s side panel, or open it in a full browser tab for a larger workspace. PRIVACY Book information, saved projects, checklist progress, and PDF inspection are processed locally in your browser. The extension does not upload your manuscripts or book data to our servers.
