Overview
Save papers to your mySpires library from the sites where you read them, and cite them from the toolbar.
mySpires is a free, personal reference library for physicists, built around INSPIRE and arXiv. This extension brings your library to the pages where you read papers. On arXiv, INSPIRE and a few other literature sites, each paper gets a small mySpires bar: save it with one click, add tags and comments, or remove it. Papers already in your library are marked, both on a paper's own page and in search results and listings. The toolbar icon turns blue when the page is about a paper and shows a green tick when it's saved, arXiv PDFs included. On dark pages the bar is dark too. You can also save a paper by right-clicking a link to it, or a selected arXiv number or DOI, and choosing "Save to mySpires." Control+Shift+S on a Mac (Alt+Shift+S elsewhere) saves the paper you're reading, also on journal pages that give its arXiv number or DOI. Click the toolbar icon (or press Control+Shift+C on a Mac, Alt+Shift+L elsewhere) to search your library and INSPIRE. Pick papers and press Cite to copy their keys for \cite{}, or BibTeX to copy their entries. On a paper's page the popup also shows that paper, so you can save or tag it. If you close the popup by accident, your search and picks are still there when you reopen it. The welcome page that opens after you install it shows every site the bar works on. You can switch the bar off on any of them, or choose a compact bar. Your library lives on myspires.ajainphysics.com, where you can browse it by tag, keep a reading history, share libraries in collaborations, and get an always up-to-date .bib file for your papers (also in Dropbox). You need a free mySpires account. The extension runs only on the sites shown on its welcome page, and on another page only when you open the popup or press the save shortcut there. It doesn't track your browsing elsewhere. mySpires is an independent project and isn't affiliated with arXiv, INSPIRE or any of the other sites.
