)Overview
Remote browser automation via MCP - DevTools Extension
Kapture lets AI assistants drive your browser through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Connect a tab, and any MCP client — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cline, and more — can navigate, click, type, and read the page. KEY FEATURES: ✓ Click, hover, scroll, and interact with page elements ✓ Fill forms and type with real keystrokes — works in rich editors like Google Docs ✓ Watch network traffic and read request/response bodies on demand ✓ Capture screenshots of the page or a single element ✓ Read console logs and extract DOM content ✓ Batch many commands into a single call ✓ Multiple AI assistants can share the same tabs ✓ Optional JavaScript execution — off until you flip the switch, per tab PERFECT FOR: • AI-powered browser automation • Web testing and debugging • Content extraction • Automated workflows HOW IT WORKS: 1. Install the extension and an MCP client (kapture-mcp on npm) 2. Click the Kapture toolbar icon and flip the switch to connect a tab 3. Your AI assistant sees the tab and takes it from there A DevTools panel is included for watching commands in real time — handy, but not required. PRIVACY FIRST: • All communication stays on your machine (localhost only) • No data sent to external servers, no analytics • You choose which tabs connect, and JavaScript execution stays off unless you enable it • Open source: github.com/williamkapke/kapture
