Accessibility Scanner — WCAG, ADA & Color Contrast Checker
Overview
Test any page for WCAG issues: color contrast, alt text, form labels, headings. Outlined where they are. No login, no email.
See exactly what's broken on any page, in place. Accessibility Scanner runs the axe-core engine against the page you're on and outlines every failing element right where it sits, so you can see the problem instead of reading a list of selectors. NEW IN 0.3.0: SEE THE KEYBOARD PATH THROUGH A PAGE "Show tab order" numbers every tab stop on the page, in the order a keyboard user will actually reach them. Follow 1, 2, 3 and a broken order becomes obvious at a glance: a menu that tabs backwards, a cookie banner you only reach after nineteen other things, a control that never takes focus at all. It shows rather than judges. Whether an order makes sense is a decision about your content, so the extension puts the sequence in front of you and leaves the call to you. Two things it does flag, because neither is a matter of opinion: an element with a positive tabindex, which jumps ahead of the entire document, and an element you can tab to that is not visible anywhere on screen, so focus simply disappears. CONTRAST IS CHECKED IN THE FOCUSED STATE TOO A button can read perfectly well normally and become almost invisible the moment you tab to it, because the focus style changes the colors. Most tools measure the page as it sits, so the button passes while being unusable for exactly the people who navigate by keyboard and depend on seeing where they are. This one focuses each control it can reach, reads the colors the browser actually renders in that state, and reports anything that passes at rest and fails once focused, with both ratios so you can see the drop. WHAT IT CHECKS • Color contrast, including text over CSS gradients, background images and translucent overlays, which most tools hand back as "needs review" • Contrast in the focused state, which standard rulesets do not cover at all • The keyboard tab order, numbered on the page • Missing or unhelpful image alt text • Form inputs with no associated label • Links and buttons with no accessible name • Heading order and document structure • ARIA misuse and landmark problems • The whole page, not just what happened to be on screen: it scrolls and waits for lazy-loaded content, images and fade-in animations before testing HONEST BY DESIGN Automated testing reliably catches the machine-checkable part of WCAG, roughly a third of the criteria. The rest needs human judgement. We tell you which is which, and we never issue a compliance badge or claim your site is ADA compliant. Nothing here is legal advice, and no automated tool can make a site legally compliant. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED No login, no email, no trial. Open the extension, scan the page, read the result. SCAN FROM ANYWHERE ELSE TOO The same engine runs as a CLI, a GitHub Action for CI, and an MCP server so AI agents can audit pages directly: https://accessibilityscanner.app/integrations Built on axe-core by Deque Systems.
