Overview

Automatically manage YouTube captions and avoid duplicate subtitles. Images are processed locally.

YouTube captions, on when needed, off when they get in the way. When a video has burned-in subtitles and switchable YouTube captions at the same time, the text can get in the way. subtitle.im automatically turns on available YouTube captions, detects burned-in subtitles in the video, then handles overlapping captions according to your settings. It leaves the original video unchanged. Main features • Turn on captions automatically: Enable an available caption track and keep applying your setting as you move between videos. • Turn off duplicate captions: When burned-in subtitles and YouTube captions repeat the same content, turn off the switchable captions according to your settings. • Choose what happens with different languages: Turn captions off automatically, ask first, or keep them on. Keep them on if you want to read the original and a translation together. • Restore captions anytime: Use the extension or YouTube CC to turn them back on. After a manual change, automatic adjustments stop for that viewing. • Detect locally: Video frames and caption text used for detection are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. Free trial Each installation includes 10 different free videos. Only successful caption closures count; detection, failed recognition, manual CC changes and rewatches do not. Try automatic caption handling on 10 videos without signing up. After the allowance is used, you can still watch videos and toggle captions manually. Some advanced settings require Pro; Pro purchases are not yet available. Good to know Works with YouTube in Chrome. It does not edit burned-in subtitles or generate, translate, or download captions. Detection can be affected by subtitle styling, video quality, and other factors. When evidence is insufficient, YouTube captions stay on; you can restore them if they were turned off by mistake. The interface supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, and Hindi.
