Granblock helps protect you and the people you love from scams. Scammers send fake emails and build fake websites that look real. Granblock checks what you are looking at and, if something looks dangerous, shows a large, easy-to-read warning that explains why in plain language. It never uses scary jargon. WHAT IT DOES • Checks the email you have open in Gmail for common scam signs, like fake urgency, requests for gift cards or passwords, and look-alike senders. • Checks websites you visit and links you click for signs of phishing, fake shops, and fake tech-support pages. • Blocks websites already known to be dangerous before they load. • Shows a big warning with the reasons, and a clear "Go back to safety" button. • Can read a warning out loud, at the speed you choose, for anyone who finds small text hard to read. • Shows a gentle "Be careful" note for weaker warning signs, without blocking you. YOUR PRIVACY COMES FIRST • Checks happen inside your own browser. Granblock has no server and sends nothing about what you read or visit by default. • It never reads anything you type. • Two extra checks are optional and OFF until you turn them on in Settings: – Free phishing list (Phishing.Database): downloads a public list once a day and checks it on your computer. The websites you visit are never sent. – Google Safe Browsing: uses your own free key from Google. Only the first 4 bytes of a scrambled fingerprint of each address are sent, never the address or the page. • You choose how much access to give: "Gmail only" or "all websites," and you can take it back any time.
