🎤 Voice Recorder: record your mic, a browser tab, or both Voice Recorder is an audio recorder that lives in Chrome's side panel. It captures your microphone, the sound of a browser tab, or both mixed into one file. Get each take as MP3, WAV or WebM and replay it next to the page you're on. 🚀 Start recording in four steps 1. Add it to Chrome and pin its icon to the toolbar. 2. Click that icon: the side panel opens. 3. Pick a mode at the top of the panel. 4. Press the record button, or Space, to start and stop. 🔊 Record tab audio, not only your voice As a tab audio recorder, Tab mode captures the sound of the page you're on: a lecture, a webinar or an online meeting held in the browser. Click the extension icon on the tab you want, then press Start. Voice + Tab mixes your mic with that tab and gives each source its own volume from 0 to 200%, with live level meters. ⭐ Key features ① Three modes: your mic, the tab, or both in one file. ② Formats: MP3 at 128–320 kbps, 16-bit WAV, or WebM, all at 48 kHz. ③ Pause and resume, with Space and P as shortcuts. ④ Waveform playback at 0.5× to 2× speed. ⑤ Crop a take to the part you need, with Undo. As an mp3 recorder it saves 320 kbps files by default, and WAV keeps lossless sound for editing. Clean Sound turns on echo cancellation and noise suppression for clear speech in mono. Turn it off when you capture music in stereo. 🎧 After you press Stop The take appears on a card with its waveform. Give it a name, listen at any speed, crop the start or the end, and press Save Recording. The file is downloaded, and a copy stays in the history of this mic recorder. 👥 Who uses this voice recorder app ➤ Students: record lectures online or in class, then replay them at 1.5×. ➤ Teachers: audio instructions, feedback, or narration to add to Google Slides. ➤ Podcasters: an interview in a browser call, your mic and the guest together. ➤ Language learners: record your voice reading aloud and check your pronunciation. ➤ Anyone who needs a voice note recorder, a dictaphone for ideas, or a quick mic test. 💻 A voice recorder for Chromebook, Windows and Mac As an audio recorder for Chrome it runs on ChromeOS, Windows, Mac and Linux, so it's a simple way to record audio on a Chromebook at school or on a work laptop. Recording keeps going after you close the side panel, and the toolbar icon shows REC while it runs. 📚 History and storage 🔹 Rename takes and search them by title 🔹 Sort by date, size or length 🔹 Download, crop, or delete with a 5-second undo 🔹 Storage limit from 1 to 100 GB ⏳ Made for long sessions Every second is written to your browser's storage as it happens. If the browser crashes or closes, the voice recording comes back the next time you open the panel, except for the last few seconds. You get a warning when disk space runs low, and 3-hour recordings were tested. 🔒 Like an online voice recorder, this sound recorder needs no account. It has no analytics or tracking, and recordings stay in your browser until you download them. 🔧 Microphone recorder settings - Any microphone your computer sees, built-in or USB - Mute the recorded tab while you capture it - Default volumes for each source - A quick microphone test before a call - 52 interface languages and a dark theme 🎯 Keep Voice Recorder pinned for your next voice memo, lecture or interview. Something broken, or a feature you miss? Write to us from Support & Feedback at the bottom of its settings. ❓ Does this voice recorder extension cost anything? 💡 No. It is free to use: no sign-up, no trial and no time limit. ❓ Can it record system audio or other apps? 💡 No. It is a browser audio recorder: your microphone and browser tabs. For a call in a desktop app, join it from the browser instead. ❓ Why does Tab mode say it's unavailable on this page? 💡 Click the extension icon on that tab first. Chrome lets it capture only tabs where you clicked it, and chrome:// pages can't be captured. ❓ Can I run a mic test with it? 💡 Yes. To test your mic, record a few seconds and play them back. In Voice + Tab mode the live meter shows your mic level as you speak. ❓ Is it an online voice recorder? 💡 It works like one, but in your browser's side panel: nothing is uploaded, and every file stays on your computer. ❓ Where do my recordings go? 💡 Save Recording downloads the file and keeps a copy in the history, where you can play it in the panel. ❓ How long can one take be? 💡 There's no time limit. Your disk space and the storage limit decide, and 3-hour sessions were tested. ✨ Voice Recorder: your voice and tab audio, saved as MP3 or WAV
