)Overview
Capture console errors, network failures, user actions, screenshots, and debugging context in one local session.
DebugPilot is a local web debugging recorder and diagnostic tool for developers, QA engineers, and technical support teams. Start a debug session on the page you want to inspect. DebugPilot captures debugging evidence in one local session, helping you understand what happened, identify important differences, investigate failures, and create structured reports for developers. With Session Comparison, Failure Timeline, and evidence-based analysis, DebugPilot goes beyond recording events to help you investigate why web applications behave differently. **Core Features** **Recording & Debugging** • Console errors and browser warnings • JavaScript runtime exceptions with source, line, column, and stack context • Network request metadata, failures, slow requests, and bounded request/response data • Issues Only view for focusing on detected problems • Automatic Action Trace linking user actions with related debugging evidence • Semantic DOM click context for buttons, links, inputs, and other page elements • Precise Canvas/WebGL click coordinates and relative positions • Nearby user actions and error context • Automatic screenshot evidence around detected errors • HTTP, asset, WebSocket, and Data URL classification • Advanced Function Trace with call stacks and built-in Source Preview • Local session history **Session Comparison & Failure Analysis — New in 1.7** • Good vs Bad Session Comparison for identifying differences between normal and problematic sessions • Automatic classification of New Issues, Resolved Issues, Changed Behavior, Unchanged Events, and Insufficient Evidence • Comparison across Console, Network, WebSocket, Action Trace, and Function Trace evidence • Failure Timeline showing the sequence of events surrounding a selected problem • Evidence-based Possible Causes with supporting findings, confidence levels, source locations, and limitations • Clear distinction between confirmed observations, possible explanations, and insufficient evidence • Direct references to original debugging evidence • Filtering and navigation to help developers focus on meaningful differences • Deterministic analysis without external AI processing **WebSocket Debugging & Simulation** • WebSocket connection monitoring and message inspection • WebSocket message simulation with Send to Server and Inject to Client • WebSocket Traffic Control with outgoing/incoming blocking and delay • Live WebSocket message activity and simulation feedback • Connection states including OPEN, CLOSED, and UNKNOWN • Support for existing connections, reconnections, iframes, cross-origin frames, and single-page applications • WebSocket simulation and traffic control evidence in Session Timeline and Reports • Automatic cleanup when recording stops **Reports & Evidence Sharing** • Copy Context for sharing focused debugging evidence • Export Issue as a standalone offline HTML report • Full session HTML reports for offline review • Reproduction Reports with event timelines, possible causes, supporting evidence, and reproduction context • Copyable reproduction summaries • Bounded WebSocket and Action Trace evidence in offline reports • Explicit recording and export provenance where available • Clear reporting of truncated, unavailable, missing, or omitted evidence • Source locations and evidence references for further investigation Issue packages can include the related user action, stack trace, timeline context, console context, network context, WebSocket activity, screenshots, and possible explanations while helping users focus on relevant evidence. DebugPilot does not guarantee that every failure can be reproduced or that every possible cause is a confirmed root cause. Diagnostic conclusions depend on the evidence captured during recording. **Privacy by Design** DebugPilot works locally on your device. Debugging data is not automatically uploaded to the extension developer or third parties. Recording only starts after you explicitly start a debug session for the selected browser tab. During an active recording session, DebugPilot may capture bounded HTTP request and response data, WebSocket messages, URLs, console output, stack traces, user action context, and screenshots. Full-Fidelity exports preserve available debugging evidence and may contain sensitive information, including authentication tokens, URL parameters, personal information, or confidential application data embedded in captured content. DebugPilot does not intentionally collect passwords, cookie contents, authorization headers, or clipboard contents as separate data fields. However, sensitive information may appear incidentally within recorded payloads, messages, URLs, logs, or screenshots. Exported reports should not be assumed to be automatically sanitized. Always review debugging evidence before exporting, sharing, or publishing reports. WebSocket simulation and traffic controls operate only during an explicitly started debugging session. Simulated incoming messages are delivered to client-side handlers and are not sent by the server. Blocking and delay operate at the WebSocket application level, not as device-wide network throttling. No account or external cloud service is required to use DebugPilot. --- *** WHAT'S NEW *** **Version 1.7.0 — Session Comparison & Failure Analysis** • Added Good vs Bad Session Comparison for
