Echo Ledger
Overview
Collect only the phrases you deliberately select and trace how wording echoes across sources.
Echo Ledger is a local phrase archive built around explicit selection. Highlight a sentence or short passage on a regular web page, open the context menu, and choose “Add phrase to Echo Ledger.” The extension receives only that selected text and the page URL supplied with the context-menu event. It does not inject code into the page, read surrounding paragraphs, inspect the DOM, or operate automatically. Each saved impression contains the selected text, capture time, and a source link. Common tracking parameters and URL fragments are removed before storage while functional query parameters remain intact. Entries are limited to 1,200 characters each and the archive is bounded to the 600 newest valid records. The full ledger compares normalized words and adjacent word pairs locally. Similar passages are grouped into visual threads so the user can inspect wording that recurs or changes across sources. The grouping score is a deterministic lexical aid, not a statement that two sources are related, copied, accurate, or trustworthy. A tension control lets the user make grouping stricter or looser. Search filters by phrase or source. Every phrase can be deleted independently, and the entire ledger can be erased after a confirmation step. Source links open only when the user selects them. There is no account, sync, advertising, analytics, telemetry, remote code, AI service, background page reading, or extension-operated network request.
