Ecosia - The search engine that plants trees

It didn't install a new tab page.

I deleted it for a little because it didn't have enough for me in terms of results, but then it gave me a tip to " #g " at the end of my search in order to switch to google while still using ecosia. If you don't really like the website I would use this trick because you are still using the extension for what is was intended for but just using google. ex: planting trees #g

I learnt and installed ECOSIA about 4 years ago. I wish it would keep up with UX best practices, to make it the most loved and used search engine on the planet, as it needs this to take over the world and plant many more trees.

MAKE THE HEADLINES OF A SEARCH BOLD! It is really tiring and strenuous to look through search pages where all the text is similar and nothing stands out. Please! Because I really want to use this, great idea

The hard work truly shows all around the ecosia-user experience. Love how they made it so simple to help the planet.

i cant add the little bookmark links to my home page...i also cant click the google square thing to get to my email and drive...just inconvenient tbh

Works as expected and I like to support their model🌳

Full disclosure: In the past I worked at Ecosia (but not anymore now). I still use this extension. I find the model behind the search engine that help us all collectively contribute to climate solution inspiring! I have high trust in the team and people who built this search engine and the extension.

i used ecosia for a little bit and noticed there are stuff google has that ecosia doesn't. it doesnt have timers, it doesnt have bold lettering to find answers to problems quickly (or you could use the ai but people want to see answers once they search it) it doesn't have map snapshots (like if you search burger king near me on google it shows 3 nearest locations near you without having you going to maps. ecosia doesn't have that and requires you to go to maps to see.) aside from the drawback... I am happy they are making this idea, but i wish they kept the search engine like google, just put some ads bc i dont like the color
