Proteu QA helps software testers handle, without leaving the browser, the tasks that eat the most time: creating test data, filling forms, identifying the elements on screen, and repeating a registration over and over to populate an environment. Everything works offline. The extension makes no network requests, uses no external libraries, and collects nothing. DATA YOU CAN REPRODUCE Every generated person has a short reference, shown at the bottom of the panel. Paste that reference into the bug report and whoever picks it up will see the exact same person, with the exact same documents. It is the difference between writing "I used random data" and handing over a defect the team reproduces on the first try. DOCUMENTS FROM TWELVE COUNTRIES The extension generates documents equivalent to those of twelve countries, among them the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan and Australia. Every number follows the check digit algorithm published by the authority that issues it, so it passes the validation of the system under test. The generated person is coherent: the email derives from the name, the address matches the region, and the hire date never comes before the person was old enough to work. The Australian algorithms are checked against real public numbers, the tax office's own ABN and Telstra's ABN and ACN, so a mistake in the implementation fails the test suite instead of reaching you. MAP THE ELEMENTS ON SCREEN Turn on the mode, click the elements you intend to automate, and a notepad beside the page builds the declarations, ready to paste into your project. The output comes in the format of the automation tool you use, in the naming convention you prefer. The locator respects its destination: each tool receives the syntax it actually runs. The variable name comes from the role of the element and from the most stable hint available. Identifiers generated by the build are discarded, because they do not survive the next deploy. LOCATORS THAT ARE CHECKED Right click any element to copy the best locator available. The developer panel shows each strategy with the real number of elements it matches, verified on the open page. A locator that matches four elements is a test that passes today and fails when the screen gains one more similar item, and that becomes visible before it turns into code. FILL FORMS One click fills the recognized fields with the current person, including on screens built with modern frameworks. Password, read-only, disabled and file upload fields are never touched. TEXT AND EDGE CASES Text generation with an exact length in the counting unit you choose, because "one hundred characters" is ambiguous, and that ambiguity is exactly where the validation on screen tends to disagree with the validation on the server. There is also a library of inputs that tend to break systems, each one with an explanation of why: special characters, extreme numbers and dates, invisible spaces and malformed values. AUTOMATION WITHOUT A PROJECT Record a registration once and get a script that runs in the browser itself, with nothing to install and no project to set up. Choose how many repetitions you want and the script runs the flow in sequence. Each round uses a different person, because repeating the same registration hits a duplicate check on the second attempt. It is the way to populate a staging environment with dozens of records in minutes, without writing automation. For teams that already have a test suite, the same recording can be exported in the format of the most widely used automation tools, including the traversal of encapsulated components and the frame switching that ordinary recorders forget. PASSWORD GENERATOR A dedicated tab for creating passwords, with adjustable length and a choice of which character types go in. The meter beside it shows the strength in bits, and the password always comes out with at least one character of each type selected, because a password outside the system policy would only be discovered when the registration is refused. Unlike the rest of the extension, this tab is not reproducible: the password comes from the browser's own cryptographic randomness, because a password someone else can predict could not be called strong. BESIDE THE FORM The extension also opens in the browser side panel, through a button in the header. Unlike the floating window, the panel does not close when you click the page, so it stays visible while you fill the registration. The same button returns the extension to the window format. The mapping notepad can be docked into that panel by dragging it to the edge of the screen, which frees up the form area. SEVEN LANGUAGES The interface follows the country you choose and can be pinned to one language. You can generate data for one country and read the labels in your own language. PRIVACY No network requests. No collection. No external dependencies. There are five permissions at install, and none of them gives access to page content. The access needed for the locator menu and for the mapping mode is optional, and is only requested when you turn those features on.
