Overview

Edit text on any page, generate a prompt to make the change, and review changes as UAT — simple to generate content changes report.

Edit text on any web page — then turn your edits into an AI prompt and a review doc automatically. Edit Text on Any Website is a simple on-page editor for content reviews and UAT (user acceptance testing). Click any heading, subheading, bullet, link, button, or label on a live page and type over it. Every edit is captured as a clear before → after change — nothing is saved to the real site, so a refresh restores the original page. From the same edits you get two outputs: • A prompt to make the change — a precise, copy-ready instruction (with CSS selectors) you can hand to Claude or any AI coding assistant to implement the update. • A human-readable review doc — a simple content-changes report your team can read and approve. WHY PEOPLE USE IT • Content reviews & UAT sign-off — capture exactly what should change, in plain language. • Faster handoff to developers/AI — generate an implementation prompt instead of writing tickets by hand. • Leave comments on anything — including images and icons you can't retype, so no feedback gets lost. • Verify the fix landed — after changes go live, upload your prompt file and each change is checked against the page and marked applied, missing, or to-check. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open any page (staging or production, including pages behind a login) and click the toolbar icon. A panel appears. 2. Click "Start editing," then click any text and type over it. Each change is recorded. 3. Preview the result under the Prompt and Review doc tabs, then use "Download prompt" and "Download doc" to save either or both. 4. Optional: use "Add comments" to leave a comment on any element — including images — or to request content that doesn't exist yet, and attach screenshots to any change. 5. Later, verify the applied changes against the live page and download a pass/fail report. GOOD TO KNOW • Works on almost any web page, including content inside embedded iframes. • It won't run on browser system pages (chrome://, the Web Store, the built-in PDF viewer). • Best for text elements — headings, subheadings, bullets, links, buttons, labels, and paragraphs. • Drag the panel by its title bar to reach text behind it; minimize it any time. PRIVACY Everything runs locally in your browser. The extension does not collect, store on a server, or transmit any of your data. Your edits, prompts, review docs, and screenshots stay on your device.
