peek for Gmail
Overview
Opens Gmail draft attachments (PDFs, images) in the browser instead of downloading them. Collects no data.
Click a PDF in a Gmail draft and your browser downloads it. peek makes it open in the browser's own viewer instead. Gmail marks draft attachment links as "download" (disp=safe). peek changes that one parameter to "inline" when you open the link, so PDFs and images show right in a tab. Nothing else changes. - Opens PDFs and images in the browser's viewer - Gmail's Download button still downloads - Files the browser cannot display (docx, zip) still download as normal - Works with every signed-in Google account (u/0, u/1, ...) - Nothing to configure, and no data collected - Free software, GPL v3 Permissions are the minimum: declarativeNetRequest and mail.google.com. peek has no code that can read your mail. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC.
