Fluera is a word and text translator right in your browser, with dual subtitles for YouTube. Select a word or a paragraph on any website and Fluera shows the translation with pronunciation; every word in the text can be opened on its own and saved to your personal dictionary. It helps you learn Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and English words where you meet them: in articles, news, documentation, messages and videos. GETTING STARTED 1. Install the extension and choose the language to translate into and the languages you read. 2. Allow website access so a translate button appears next to selected text. YouTube and Disney+ access is enabled separately. 3. Select text on a page or turn on subtitles in the player, and the translation appears right away. TRANSLATE TEXT AND WORDS ON ANY WEBSITE • Select up to 2,500 characters and Fluera translates the whole text, with the translation under each sentence. • Every word in the text is clickable. Click any word to see its dictionary translation and other meanings. • Translate with the button next to the selection, “Translate with Fluera” in the context menu, or a keyboard shortcut. • Paste text into the extension window to translate it by hand, including on pages where extensions do not run. • The language is detected for each paragraph. If an English quote appears on a Spanish page, each word opens in its own language. TRANSLATOR WITH PRONUNCIATION • Hear how words are pronounced with a click on the speaker. • Save the dictionary form of a word and the meaning that fits. DUAL SUBTITLES ON YOUTUBE • The original subtitles and YouTube’s translation into your language on screen together, where the translation is available: for example, Spanish and English subtitles. • Turn dual subtitles on with the Fluera switch right in the player. • Choose the subtitle track for a video in Fluera’s settings in the player. • Hover over a word in the subtitles or click it: the video pauses, the translation appears, and you can save the word. Move the pointer away and playback continues. • Subtitle size, color and background are adjustable. SUBTITLES ON DISNEY+ • A machine translation into your language appears under the original subtitles. • Words in the subtitles are translated on hover and saved to your dictionary. PERSONAL DICTIONARY • Save words and the translations you choose to a personal dictionary stored in your browser. • Search your words, filter them by language, delete the ones you no longer need and restore words deleted by mistake. • Back up your dictionary as JSON, restore it from a backup, or export it as CSV, for example for flashcards. • Connect a Fluera account to upload saved words to your vocabulary on fluera.com and learn them in exercises and games. LANGUAGES • Translates from English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. • Translates into English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Hindi. • The extension interface is available in the same seven languages. PRIVACY • Only the text needed for a translation is sent: the selection, or a word together with its sentence. Page addresses, browsing history and cookies are not sent. • You turn on access to websites, YouTube and Disney+ yourself in the extension settings. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How is Fluera different from a page translator? Fluera does not translate whole pages. You translate what you select, look into each word (meanings, pronunciation) and save the ones you need so you can learn them later. Do dual subtitles work on every YouTube video? The video needs subtitles. If it has none, Fluera tells you. The second line is YouTube’s translation, so it appears where YouTube can translate the subtitles. Where is my dictionary stored? In the browser on your computer. Save a JSON backup before uninstalling the extension. If a Fluera account is connected, your words are also uploaded to the website. Translation and audio require an internet connection. Machine translation and newly generated word translations and audio have usage limits. YouTube dual subtitles are not supported on Shorts.
